Spotlight Series: Q&A with Sara Mirzaei of Neuro Align Clinic
Q1: What does your business do, and who do you help?
At Neuro Align Clinic, we help people who have been living with pain, stress or fatigue for far too long, often after they’ve tried everything else. We combine chiropractic care with trauma-informed brain coaching to look at both the physical and neurological factors that may be contributing to their symptoms. Many of the people we work with have persistent neck or back pain, headaches, TMJ issues, chronic tension, or the lasting effects of childhood trauma and prolonged stress. As a team, we’re committed to helping people understand their bodies, restore function and regain confidence in their health.
Q2: What inspired you to start your business?
My own life experiences played a huge part in creating Neuro Align Clinic. I know what it feels like to live through trauma and understand how deeply it can affect both the mind and the body. After experiencing PTSD following an attack at work in 2022, I became even more passionate about understanding the brain, the nervous system and the body’s ability to heal. That journey reinforced what I’d already seen in practice: pain is rarely just physical. I wanted to build a clinic where every member of the team shares the same values, so people feel heard, understood and cared for as a whole person, not just a list of symptoms.
Q3: What do you enjoy most about your work?
The most rewarding part is seeing people regain parts of their lives they thought they’d lost. Whether that’s returning to work, picking up their grandchildren, sleeping through the night or simply feeling hopeful again, those moments never get old. As a team, we also love educating people because when someone understands why they’ve been feeling the way they do, it often changes how they approach their health and recovery.
Q4: What makes your service or approach different?
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all care. Every person has a unique story, so every treatment plan should reflect that. Our approach combines evidence-informed chiropractic care with an understanding of how stress, trauma and the nervous system influence pain and recovery. Rather than focusing only on where the pain is, we look at why it’s there and what may be keeping the body stuck in that pattern. So, we mix Neuro Chiropractic with Brain exercises and the results can be very surprising.
Q5: What’s been a proud or memorable moment since launching Neuro Align Clinic?
One of our proudest moments has been hearing patients tell us they finally feel listened to. Many arrive after years of searching for answers, and seeing them make progress, sometimes after believing nothing would help, reminds us why Neuro Align Clinic was created. Watching the clinic grow into a place where people genuinely feel supported has been incredibly rewarding for all of us.
Q6: Have you faced any major challenges, and how did you overcome them?
Like many businesses, we’ve faced challenges along the way. Personally, living with and managing ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) has been one of the most difficult experiences, bringing ongoing fatigue, limitations and uncertainty. Building and running a clinic while navigating this condition hasn’t been easy, and there have been times when resilience has truly been tested.
We’ve overcome these challenges by staying focused on our purpose, continuing to learn and surrounding ourselves with a supportive team. Every obstacle has strengthened both the business and the way we care for our patients.
Q7: What’s one thing you wish you knew before starting out?
Building trust takes time, and that’s completely normal. It’s easy to feel like you need to do everything at once, but we’ve learned that lasting success comes from consistent care, genuine relationships and a strong reputation. Staying patient, focused and committed to your values truly makes all the difference.
Q8: What’s a common misconception about your industry?
A common misconception is that chiropractors simply “crack backs”. Modern chiropractic care, particularly Neuro Chiropractic, is much broader than that. It focuses on the brain and nervous system as a whole, rather than just treating a specific area of pain like “your back hurts here, so we adjust only that spot”. Our technique places a strong emphasis on the nervous system, particularly how the body responds to stress and operates in fight or flight mode.
The aim is to help the nervous system function at its optimum, regardless of the stress or hardship placed on the body. It’s centred around improving movement, supporting the nervous system and helping people function better. Likewise, brain coaching isn’t about positive thinking or quick fixes. It’s about understanding how the brain works, recognising unhelpful patterns and helping people develop healthier ways of responding to stress and life’s challenges.
Q9: What advice would you give to someone entering chiropractic practice or brain coaching?
Never stop learning. Clinical knowledge is essential, but so are communication, empathy and genuinely listening to people. Don’t focus on trying to know everything straight away. Focus on becoming the practitioner who helps people feel safe, respected and understood. Technical skills develop over time, but trust is built through human connection.
Q10: What do you like about being a member of UK Business Portal?
Being part of UK Business Portal gives us the opportunity to connect with other business owners, share ideas and continue learning. Running a business can sometimes feel isolating, so having access to a supportive network, useful resources and opportunities to raise awareness of Neuro Align Clinic has been a real benefit.
